We have the little flying black crappers as an introduced pest here in Australia too; but luckily not enough of them to form the huge swarms you seem to have in Europe and North America. I suspect that competition from another. larger and more aggressive member of the starling family, the common mynah (native to India and southeast Asia), is the reason that their numbers out here have been kept under control.
